How to turn a Strength Athlete into a Hybrid Athlete.Part 5 of 5

The whole point of good Hybrid Training (in my opinion) is that you should become capable at challenging yourself to do some pretty epic stuff.

Sets, reps, training splits, RPE vs percentages, and every other thing you could possibly debate about hybrid training , is all completely meaningless - if you never take your incredibly capable hybrid abilities beyond the gym or training environment.

Yes, this is a post about more than just the nuances of training. It’s about my philosophy - not for just Hybrid training, but also to for life - which is, doing this should give you fulfilment, from a lifetime of adventure.

One day, your incredible privilege of having a capable body, freedom to move at will and put yourself in relatively compromised experiences (like being out overnight on a self navigated ultramarathon) are going to come to an end.

And god forbid (whichever god or belief system you choose) you don’t suddenly regret not doing what you could, when you could.

All of this is about being able to do more - to be more, than just what you can do in the gym.

To be able to say to yourself, yeh - I did that.

To have the vulnerability to find self belief through doing incredible things.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this mini series. And I hope that you go on to do incredible things.

And…if you’re looking for something big to do in 2024…then I might be able to help you.

Our 2024 Challenge weekend is going to provide the opportunity that is missing to actually be able to showcase your hybrid strengths and endurance capabilities…

All you need to do is sign up for coaching in January, and you’ll be part of the H+ Performance challenge weekend in June at no extra cost.

If you’d like to discuss joining H+ Performance, then head to the 1:1 coaching page and book a free chat with me, and we’ll get you started on your Hybrid Athlete journey…
